New Moon in Libra: Love’s Cautionary Tales

 Love’s Cautionary Evolutionary Tales

Who in your life has taught you the most difficult lessons?
Was it your mother, or your father,
or the philandering spouse or the ungrateful child?

Who taught you the hard lessons?
And you must ask them, the lessons themselves,
what they were there to teach you.
What did I learn, what did I learn, what did I learn?
~Paul Selig

Dear Friends,

You know a guy. I know a guy. You’ve had your heart broken. Me too. You’ve been cheated on? Same here. Your best friend betrayed you? Mine once said goodbye in an email consisting of two lines. You thought you found the One. I married and divorced a couple of…the Ones.

Bottom line…when it comes to our most intimate of relationships, we all have stories of heartbreak, sadness, failure, and disappointment—some of them harder to admit to, let alone tell.

And while we’re in choice in the stories we share and the lessons we learn, the New Moon in Libra ruled by the Goddess Venus is stirring the relationship pot to help you contemplate those tales of love you tell. (New Moon on October 8, 2018, at 9:46 pm MST, October 9 for many of you).

Caution: Be aware of the Libran tendency to dip our toes in the safest, shallowest of waters when it comes to exploring the relationships we’ve created.

Libra whose lovestruck focus on having the dream relationship as part of a beautiful life tends to shy away from looking at the heartbreak, ugliness or messiness that we’ve had our hand in creating—intentionally or not thanks to our soul’s desire to learn and grow.

Fortunately, as Libra would have it, we’re not doing this New Moon alone. Yes, this Libra New Moon has partnered up with an intense Venus Retrograde in Scorpio, ensuring many of us will be swimming in relationship waters deep for some weeks to come.

The result: a new desire for a new understanding of how we can heal within us the masculine’s failure to know how to merge with the feminine’s dream of True Love.

This Game of Love we’ve been playing has tricked us into forgetting who We truly are, so we can remember the Love that we’ve always been, independent of our relationship status or any one person’s opinion.

Relationships are the great catalysts of the giant swings we take in this Game of forgetting and remembering. The deeper we love someone, often the wider the swing.

And when our ego continues to tell the story he’s at fault, she’s to blame, he’s the One, she’s my Twin Flame, we’re tossing our brothers and sisters outside the circle of Unconditional Love.

When we’re gifted with clarity through self-discovery that our relationships are mirrors and that our biggest heartbreaks our teachers, we may examine with a little less hurt how we’ve projected our dreams and desires as well as our heartbreaks and disappointments onto the relationships that come and go—and on the ones that stay.

Anger, hurt, shock and grief when released, transformed, and forgiven plunge us in the refreshing waters of Higher Love, calling us to a more loving relationship with ourselves.

More Gifts: We leave behind the programs inherent in the Libra archetype of the Chameleon who surfaces when we change the colors of our preferences and our desires to blend in with those of the people we love.

Instead, we become strong and beautiful like the Cheetah who knows we can no longer hide our spots resplendent with our Beauty and our Power as we step bravely into the light of a new day and our new worth, whispering, “I’m here, I’m here, I’m here. I see Me now”

I see You,
calls back the One who recognizes the Divine is everywhere and in everyone.

And before you emerge from the dark side of this New Moon and the depths of this Venus Retrograde, you might bring to a lunar ceremony any disappointments you’ve felt in your relationships—partners, lovers, parents, coworkers, friends—the ones that still hurt, whose story still lingers.

To be Masters in Love (as Libra is and we all are), we must always be the curious student, pushing the relationship envelope when it comes to the no-fault agreements that Libra holds in matters of the heart.

As Libra with her Scales of Balance and Divine Justice sees ALL sides, this New Moon…

…can you let go of any projections you’ve placed on a relationship and allow yourself to be shown why that person came into your life in the first place?

…are you willing to believe that each one of us is walking on a path of Love regardless of the detours some have taken or we have judged them to take?

How are we to ever know the direction a soul agreed to take, the set of lessons she or he signed up to learn apart from our relationship with them?

Maybe a co-worker’s soul job was to push you to speak your truth, a friend helped you create stronger boundaries, an ex-lover taught you to see where your worth was lacking or to see your beauty beyond their perception.

We’re always free to align to whatever story we wish to tell about a lover, a partner, or a friend who fell short of the Divine Ideal.

However, if you’re ready to put back all of those you’ve ever loved into the circle of Divine Love where we’re all standing anyway, the opportunity exists to transform the lower story through the Beauty and the Heart Wisdom that Libra is here to teach the world.

In this pursuit, may we be brave, dive deep and be willing to resurface with the New Love Story where the masculine and feminine finally merge and Lover and the Beloved reunite–just how the story was destined to unfold all along.

Living in the sometimes
wavy sea of Libra Love,
Jenn
