New Moon in Sagittarius: The Quest for Love

New Moon in Sagittarius
(December 7 at 12:20 am MST)

“We are travellers on a cosmic journey,
stardust, swirling and dancing
in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity.
Life is eternal.
We have stopped for a moment
to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share.
This is a precious moment.
~Paulo Coehlo, The Alchemist

To My Fellow Travellers (yes, you!!):

Sagittarius is one of the most misunderstood signs in terms of where She’s been and where She’s most certainly heading.

Yes, a person living her best Sag life is the LIFE of any party, there for the laughter, the stories, the fun and the adventure, sharing her lighthearted ways and joy for life with equally fun, easy-to-laugh, easy-to-roll Trailmates on the lookout for passion, play and adventure too.

But Sagittarius has a bigger Game to play this New Moon as this Wanderer, Gypsy, Quester energy activates within us the need to seek and to live a personal Vision that embodies Truth, Expansion, Freedom, Wisdom ways, Mastery of self, and perfect Faith—preferably with a boisterous bunch of fellow Travellers willing to play to the beat of their own glittering soul-drums.

Any takers?

That’s okay because someone comfortable with the Sag energy and with themselves is okay to go it alone when the call of the Quest is too big to ignore, ignited by an unshakeable need for deep answers to some very important questions:

Why am I here?
What is the meaning of my life?
What is my purpose?
What is my joy?

Hmmm…yes.

So why are YOU here?
What is the meaning of YOUR life?
What is YOUR purpose?
What is YOUR joy?

In the buildup to this New Moon, you may have been feeling the need to stand atop the vista in the current environment you’ve landed, wondering what you might say in response to those very questions.

You may deeply feel in that cellular memory of yours that where you are now is not where your soul longs to be.

These realizations feel painful and lonely—at first—the Divine Longing over the Divine Discontent works that way. But these times your Soul came for, a necessary part of the Quest as the longing and the discontent push you to set out and find what your expanding, evolving Vision actually entails.

The New Moon in Sag also reminds us that your Journey can unfold in joy, even in bliss, if we dare to go down that path.

But to walk along the path of Bliss, we must seek ways to accept–even trust– the Unknown, be willing to shake up anywhere that feels off or stale or heavy in search for Bigger Love and Higher Truth, asking an even more soul-stirring question to move us wide and far:

What’s the best that could happen?

Really.

In the search for the love-soaked, bliss-infused answers, we will inevitably run into roadblocks and challenges. Thankfully, the curiosity and faith of the eternally optimistic Sagittarian Traveller will ask

What possible gifts and opportunities
are in this roadblock,
underneath this bump in the road?

To help you arrive at these soul-expanding answers, you may find on your path teachers to question, ancients to call upon, intuition to tap into and faith to apply.

You may paint and write and sculpt and weave your way to the answers to the questions about “why” in the creations we give birth to.

You may look for these answers in the conversations we have with strangers, our children, our friends, our lovers, our twin souls.

Oh yes, the soul of a Sagittarian Lover is cracked wide open by the fire of a personal Vision, lit with meaning and purpose, stoked by like-souled friends immersed in mystical conversations about mystical topics:

Each morning, the second they see each other,
they open easily, telling stories and dreams and secrets,
empty of any fear or suspicious holding back.

To watch and listen to those two
is to understand how, as it’s written,
sometimes when two beings come together,
Christ becomes visible.

The mouse starts laughing out a story he hasn’t thought of
in five years, and the telling might take five years!
There’s no blocking the speech flow-river-running
all-carrying momentum that true intimacy is.

Friend sits by Friend, and the tablets appear.
They read the mysteries
Off each other’s foreheads.
~Rumi

Soul medicine is made in this type of Love, these types of conversations.

This New Moon, if you’re feeling that longing to connect with others who long to share the love-work, then ask for the company to walk alongside you. Then when you see him or her, stretch out your arm and point to the road, This way, my love.

Be willing to receive the hand you long to touch and the words you long to hear.

May your intentions on this beautiful New Moon in Sagittarius invoke a big Vision that invites great growth, trusting wholeheartedly that the path will be revealed, the resources will appear and the people will come.

Into the safety of the Wild unknown, may we all laugh loudly, live boldly, shine brightly and love fully.

Jenn

Pssst…I’m often asked about when someone HAS to do a New or Full Moon ceremony.

My response: In traditional, linear thinking, any New Moon ritual can be carried out up to 48 hours after we enter the New Moon cycle. If you lean towards being non-linear in terms of time and space, a New Moon cycle for ANY SIGN can be done ANY DAY, ANY TIME—breathe as you set your intention to connect to the energy of that day or astrological event and ceremony away).
